WEBWATCH: New York City site revamped

NYC & Company, the tourism marketing agency for New York, has redesigned its website, www.nycvisit.com. The site is a comprehensive guide for all visitors to the city but it also includes a specific section for meeting planners.

Clicking on the icon for meeting, event and incentive planners takes you to a main introduction about NYC & Company and reasons for choosing the city as a C&I destination. By registering at this page visitors are able to order a copy of the meeting planners guide, receive regular e-mail updates, and view current discounts offered by member venues and attractions.

A menu on the left of the page allows planners to focus on different aspects of the trip. Availability for individual hotel rooms can be checked online and details about meeting venues, including capacities, can be downloaded.

It is also possible to view a variety of sample itineraries, including one designed for business travellers with limited free time, and there are hyperlinks to all of the venues that are suggested so that specific details can be obtained from their individual websites. Details about the Convention Delegate Pass discount scheme can be accessed too.

The services button is another helpful addition and allows organisers to search for caterers, DMCs and other production companies required throughout the trip.
