A new £35m hotel has opened its doors in Bath, minutes from major tourist attractions like the city’s famous Roman Baths.

The Apex City of Bath Hotel hosts a purpose-built city centre conference facility for up to 400 delegates and has 177 bedrooms, a restaurant, bar, gymnasium and pool.

Apex said work will continue on a £1.5 million revamp of Apex City of London Hotel, including the development of a new restaurant and a spa facility. Refurbishments are also planned for Apex Grassmarket Hotel in Edinburgh and Apex City Quay Hotel & Spa in Dundee.

Around £6m is being invested in a 20-bedroom extension, as well as a wine bar and cellar at Apex Temple Court in London.

It follows a successful financial year for the company with an 11.8% rise in underlying profits before tax, up from £9.2m to £10.3m in 2016.
