Objective
Balfour Beatty wanted two events on the same day in London to launch a paper on the digital future of the infrastructure industry. The paper would be presented to Balfour Beatty's industry clients after a shorter morning presentation to the media and politicians.

Balfour Beatty’s Group Chief Executive, Leo Quinn would deliver a keynote on how the company is innovating in the digital space. A Q&A with four experts was also planned. Guests would then be invited to try out the latest technology and meet the experts at a digital pop-up exhibition.

Solution
The panel Q&A followed speeches from Balfour Beatty Group chief executive, Leo Quinn, and head of digital, Tom Loader. Guests were then invited into an adjoining room, where booths, hosted by Balfour Beatty digital experts showcased how the company is innovating with virtual reality, augmented reality, big data analytics and combined technologies.

Verdict
Claire Battles, My Contribution programme lead, Balfour Beatty, said: "Venues and Events International gave us a number of venue options for this event, which resulted in the selection and securing of the Institution of Civil Engineers at One Great George Street on our behalf.

"Running the same event for two different audiences consecutively brought some challenges, but it ultimately worked incredibly well for us. Part of the works included building a custom stage, bespoke display stands and full AV support. This complex setup was delivered to tight deadlines, alongside our in-house design team."
