Case study: Siemens PLM Software's Converge European Consulting Conference

Siemens PLM Software held its Converge European Consulting Conference 2017 in May at Ferrari Land, organised by Primary.

The objective of the annual conference was to provide the technical community within the business with the opportunity to share and re-use knowledge. Informing them on the latest products and industry solutions, sharing the go-to-market strategy and, last but not least, enabling them to build networks with peers from across Europe and celebrate the successes they share as a team.

1,100 employees from the three service areas of the business across Europe came together for the three-day event at PortAventura, Salou. Delegates were accommodated within three hotels across the resort, with the conference, business sessions, awards, exhibitions and networking taking place within the PortAventura Convention Centre and final evening dinner and entertainment exclusively hosted by the newly opened Ferrari Land within the resort.

Keeping in-line with the global Siemens PLM Software event tagline of Rock On they used rock climbing as the theme. The event also incorporated an online registration site, an event app and all event branding across the site was to include flags, signage, lighting wraps, backdrops, digital signage and billboards, as well as the bespoke custom design and building of a 12-metre LED screen with built-in LED blade structure.

Aside from the business content, including a speech from performance coach Jamil Qureshi, app challenges and gamification, VR activities and informal networking formed part of the agenda on the first day. This was followed by an awards session complimented by aerial artistes the following afternoon, and an evening full of thrills and spills in Ferrari Land where Siemens PLM were given the first corporate exclusive hire of the multi-million-pound theme park.

Managing Director Dan Stevens said: "Working on a European Conference of this size and not only managing the event production and logistics, but also playing an instrumental role in content creation, it’s quite incredible that this project was delivered by a team of just five people."

Christian Wilmshoefer, VP Digital Enterprise Services, Germany said: "It's a pleasure to work with Primary and we have the confidence everything works from a technical and logistical perspective. It was great to rock this event based on your outstanding performance!"
