VISITFLANDERS hires international association expert

Milo Vergucht joins the associations team with the aim of attracting 300 conferences to Flanders by 2021.

Milo Vergucht has joined VISITFLANDERS convention bureau as international association expert.

Vergucht is the third association expert to start at VISITFLANDERS in recent monthsafter his colleagues Gemmeke de Jongh and Tuya Beyers joined the convention bureau in April.

"I am thrilled to join the team of VISITFLANDERS and use my expertise to promote the region as a destination for international congresses," said Vergucht. "I am convinced that the unique offering of cultural heritage, strong reputation in key industry sectors and ease of access are strong assets that will appeal to international organisations planning congresses and events."

From 2002 to 2005, Vergucht was managing director of the local convention bureau Ghent Congress. In recent years, he played an important role within MCI - the world’s largest professional conference organiser – and mostly worked with associations and corporations active in the medical and pharmaceutical field.
