This was down from 91% who predicted positive growth in C&IT's State of the Industry Report in 2016.

C&IT surveyed and interviewed UK 100 event agencies and 50 corporate event planners to gather insight into the key trends and challenges facing the UK events industry in 2017 and beyond, and compile the Top 50 agencies table (ranked by event-based turnover).

Half of agencies (50%) said client budgets have mostly remained flat in 2017, 40% have seen budgets increase, while 40% of corporate respondents have also seen their budgets rise (up from 35% last year) and 71% of corporate planners expect to organise more events in 2017 than 2016.
