Co-op Pioneer Awards 2016
The Co-operative Group celebrated the reinforcement of Co-operative values by its employees through the Pioneer Awards at it’s annual event in September 2016. Black Arts, Unicorn Productions and Britannia Row all contributed towards the production of the event.
The awards took place at Manchester Central and featured a reception area themed around an ice palace with a 50-metre wide projection screen in the main function area to ensure
everyone felt like they had a front row seat. The event saw a mix of speeches and presentations, topped off with a performance by the Kaiser Chiefs followed by a late night DJ aftershow party.
Mark James from Unicorn Productions said: "Frankly, Co-op was blown away with the results, not just the efficiency of delivery. The Britrow crew was great and the Co-op experienced a truly first-class show."

Annual SPAR Retail Show
A.F. Blakemore and Sons, leading food retail, wholesale and distribution company, required a conference, guild dinner and tradeshow event to help deliver its strategy
for the next 12 months and for suppliers to showcase new products and initiatives to independent SPAR retailers. Drp looked after the exhibitors and project-managed the event, as well as producing digital, design, video, print, live graphics and tech collateral for the show – from presentations to gala dinner entertainment. The event included live cooking and there was an
interactive event app created by the drpdigital team with an agenda, speaker biographies, and travel and venue info.
Jo Redding, retail operations manager at AFB, said: "Our SRS 2016 event was one
of our most successful combining an innovative trade show with a focused conference message. Feedback from retailers and staff has been very positive and gives a great base for us to develop our 2017 plan."

Waitrose Suppliers’ Conference
Waitrose Suppliers’ Conference is an event for the retailer’s suppliers and partners to share future strategy and vision with a series of keynote presentations, talks and workshops. Suppliers achievements in sustainability and product innovation are also celebrated through an awards presentation.
The event included keynote speakers and industry discussions. The breakout areas were used for smaller sessions such as networking opportunities.
One key obstacle was creating a fluid registration process and managing the movement of 750 people. Newbury Racecourse also had to facilitate lunch for a large group of people in a timely manner. To achieve this the venue team planned a staggered lunch and were on hand to assist with parking and greeting guests.
MCM Creative Group, which delivered the event, commented: "The venue worked perfectly to allow us to have a main plenary space as well as separate areas for immersion in the brand, networking and breakout presentations."
