The national conference for 150 colleagues took place at Dobbies Atherstone store in Warwickshire and Jurys Inn Hinckley Island, Leicestershire. The objectives of the event were to communicate Dobbies strategic plan to management to inspire and motivate them for the period ahead.
The 'Customer First, Always' conference included a store walk-round to launch the new showcase store. There were challenges with this as the Atherstone store was open for trading, during the busy half term period. To ensure that there was zero impact on the customer experience, Simply Better Events used a temporary marquee structure and created ‘tour guide’ systems with over ear headsets for colleagues to listen to different presenters as they moved through the store. The marquee featured a vendor exhibition, along with a dining area where delegates were introduced to the new restaurant menu. Colleagues later attended an awards dinner at Hinkley Island with guest speaker, Darren Campbell. The conference continued the following day.
