Objectives:

The conference introduced Cisco’s customers, resellers, advocates, partners and prospects to the brand’s innovations in its service and product offerings. The event’s specific objectives were to generate new business; increase reach, engagement and participation; deliver education; provide a networking platform and expand sponsor participation. The Messe Berlin was chosen as the venue because Cisco wanted to take the event to Northern Europe and have always attracted a large volume of German attendees.

Solution:

Through Cisco Live’s campaign theme, ‘Your Time Is Now’, GPJ created the event around encouraging the delegates to prioritise their opportunity to learn and develop as IT professionals, through making the most of every minute whilst they were at the conference. The programme included workshops, networking sessions, and 1-2-1 meetings with Cisco experts where delegates were advised and mentored in the new world of digital business. There were also opportunities for delegates to validate their skills with a Cisco Certification exam; get hands-on Cisco training in Technical Seminars and Walk-In-Self Paced labs; connect with Cisco engineers for informal one-on-one discussions on the topics that matter most to them and social events in the World of Solutions and the week’s finale, the Customer Appreciation Event, where Basement Jaxx performed.

The event achieved a 10% uplift in delegate numbers versus 2016 Cisco Live. The challenges of this were overcome by increasing the space designated for Cisco’s own stands through combining these with exhibitors stands; developing ‘The Hub’ zone as a central meeting space, and opening up the Social Media Centre, creating a larger meeting village and library. 600 speakers also held a greater number of sessions on relevant topics of interest.

Verdict:

Bonny Shapiro, Cisco Live EMEA leader said: "GPJ have created yet another incredible Cisco Live.  We’re thrilled with this year’s experience, which resulted in record breaking delegate numbers and business generation for the Cisco brand."
