The event, which took place at ExCeL London from 24th – 28th March, is the largest medical congress to be held in London this year, welcoming 12,627 participants, from over 120 different countries.

During the five-day scientific programme, over 300 sessions were presented by 1,500 renowned experts from around the globe. Almost 5,000 abstracts were submitted, with over 1,200 accepted.

Professor Chris Chapple, secretary general, EAU, said: "London and ExCeL have completely delivered on our expectations for this year’s Annual EAU Congress. London is a very attractive host city, with an eclectic mix of traditional and modern, something our delegates really appreciate. Accessibility around the city is excellent, with ease of access from all of London's airports.

"As a venue, ExCeL's space worked incredibly well, allowing our delegates to move from one part of the congress to another seamlessly and efficiently. Feedback from delegates has been overwhelming positive, with many people commenting on the smooth running of the congress. I’m delighted that the partnership between EAU, London & Partners and ExCeL has been so strong and that together we’ve achieved a great event outcome."

Samantha Shamkh, head of conventions, ExCeL London, added: "We were excited to host The European Association of Urology and are delighted that they have had such a successful congress. In partnership with London, it is our aspiration to host the very best events in the world and the EAU congress represents the leading event in its field. We are honoured to have worked with the EAU team to deliver a truly world-class event."
