ST LUCIA - PAUL HARRIS, MANAGING DIRECTOR, GLOBAL EVENTS

St Lucia is a very pretty island. The hotels there are fantastic, and we will be bringing a group of 200 delegates out to the Sandals Grande St Lucian Spa & Beach Resort for an incentive in March 2018. The location of the property beside the beach is beautiful and very idyllic, which is typical of the Caribbean.

The Sandals property offers a good number of beds at a high standard, which stood out for me. If an event planner is looking for around 100 rooms at a consistent deluxe level then this property will certainly work for those requirements.

The activities we're looking to add into the itinerary include a catamaran cruise where we have lunch on a nearby beach, combined with a jeep safari in the centre of the island, as well as visiting the stunning Pitons. The rest of the itinerary will involve spending quality time at the hotel and enjoying the facilities on offer. A few of the delegates are interested in golf so we're looking to head to another property for a few rounds, while the rest of the group dive into the array of water sports around the island.

St Lucia feels slightly different to the more popular Caribbean islands such as Antigua and Barbados. It doesn't feel as developed, it's very green and for this particular client that was a major selling point.
