Annual FAM Weekend

London City Selection (LCS), hosted its ninth annual agency familiarisation weekend (3 - 4 March) for 20 event agents, including representatives from Inntel and Banks Sadler.

The weekend kicked-off on Friday evening with a welcome reception at 47-58 Bastwick Street, where guests were assigned their teams and introduced to the theme of ‘Cityopoly’. Following a night’s stay at selection of the consortiums hotels, the five competing teams met for breakfast at One Moorgate Place where the day’s activities were unveiled.

Throughout the day, teams navigated their way from venue to venue, taking part in ‘Cityopoly’ themed activities, organised and run by Right Angle Events; which included, ‘Free Parking’ at CCT Venues Barbican, in which team’s raced remote control cars on timed laps whilst perfecting their parallel parking, and a ‘Get Out of Jail’ Lazer Maze in one of Ironmongers Hall event spaces.  Further team building activities were held at Furniture Makers’ Hall, Sadlers Well, The HAC, and Museum of London. A three course gastronomic lunch was provided by London Capital Club.

To bring the FAM weekend to a close, teams gathered at 58VE to enjoy a gala dinner followed by an after party of cocktails and dancing, with entertainment provided by Blank Canvas Entertainment.

International Women’s Day

On Wednesday evening (8 March), over 100 private event bookers from the UK and Europe met for an evening of networking, music and entertainment at Under the Bridge to celebrate International Women’s Day. At this exclusive invitation-only event, professionals discussed current hot topics with a focus on women’s roles in the events industry. Cocktails and canapés were served throughout the evening, before guests were treated to a performance from Saxophonist Heather Hoyle, of Wheathill Music followed by a DJ set throughout the evening.
