As part of the refurbishment, concrete exteriors were repainted, the lobby has been updated and the property's food and beverage outlets have also been revamped, with the 900-seat dining area showcasing farm-to-table cuisine instead of a buffet. Two adjoining meeting rooms have also been transformed into a speakeasy-style lounge called the National Secret.
Geoff Lawson, general manager and vice president of The National Conference Center said: "We are extremely proud that this challenging task was accomplished so quickly."
The property, which is located just outside Washington DC and 12 miles from Washington Dulles International Airport, offers more than 265,000 sqft of meeting and group function space, alongside 917 guestrooms.
Further renovations to the property will continue this year to the meeting space, including technology upgrades and the updating of existing courtyards.
