One judge said the "sheer complexity and the unknown of the H.O.G. Rally gave it the edge" in this high-scoring category. The H.O.G. (Harley Owners Group) Rally is a yearly event, one of three events supported and run by Harley-Davidson (H-D) EMEA.
The event, which typically attracts between 6,000 and 10,000 people, moves round Europe each year finding new destinations for the members to explore and experience, immerse themselves in the local culture, and socialise with other H.O.G. members.
It includes an expo of the H-D range, demo rides, dealer and merchandise shops, live music, bars and restaurants, a parade, daily guided tours and a custom bike show.
Goose Live Events worked with H-D to find a new Central European destination to attract the maximum number of attendees. It had to be a town with support from the mayor/administration, deliver ROI for dealers and traders, make the main sponsor Jeep prominent and be free for H.O.G. members to attend.
Portoroz in Slovenia was chosen, and as it was a new destination with no H-D Dealer, H-D and Goose had to work hard to get both the local administration and the whole town on board to make the event the huge success it was, meeting all stakeholder objectives.
