Michael Caines to open new hotel in Devon

Chef Michael Caines has announced plans to open a new Devon-based hotel the Lympstone Manor in spring 2017 .

The property is a short distance from Exeter and can be easily reached by train, car or air.

The former private home will be turned into a 21 room hotel, with many featuring their own terrace or balcony. Three Grand Estuary Suites and three ground floor Master Estuary Suites will have an outdoor fire table and soak tub.

Meanwhile three dining rooms will overlook the Exe Estuary, including a 60-seat fine-dining restaurant. A wine tasting room opposite the dining rooms will house a dispense machine for tasting by the glass, in addition to a sommeliers table where small groups can enjoy bespoke tasting.

Local attractions include the Exe Estuary trail, the Jurassic Coast and Powderham Castle.
