Every two years the ESA stages the Snackex trade show and conference and the 17th edition will take place from 21-22 June 2017 at the Messe Wien Exhibition & Congress Center. Meanwhile, the 43rd annual meeting of the International Urogynecological Association (IUGA) will take place at the Austria Center Vienna from June 26–30 2018.

Organised by the ESA, Snackex is a trade show, major exhibition, networking event and congress all rolled into one. The forum is the only European event dedicated to the savoury snack and nuts industry. Spread across 5,000 square meters, Snackex will bring together more than 120 exhibitors and 2,500 experts from the entire production and supply chain from over 80 countries.

Each year the IUGA congress brings together around 2,000 delegates from all over the world to discuss the latest advances in urogynecology and pelvic reconstruction surgery.

Professor Paul Riss, IUGA president from 2004 to 2006 and chairman of the hosting committee said: "Vienna has been a leading urogynecological research location since the end of the 19th century. The city has numerous specialists in this particular field, and the Vienna, Graz and Innsbruck medical universities are leading international competence centres. Vienna’s legendary hospitality and its excellent infrastructure and leisure options were among the factors that helped the city on its way to securing the 2018 IUGA Congress."
