The futuristic-looking congress centre, the largest in the capital, is made from steel and fibreglass. Designed by Italian architect Massimiliano Fuksas, it has a total capacity of 8,000 seats. More than 6,000 people can be accommodated in its conference rooms, which includes the Plenary area, while a total of 1,762 can be seated in its auditorium.

The inauguration is taking place at the end of this week, on 29 October.

Earlier this year, Rome secured the bid to host the International Congress of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery 2022, which will be held at La Nuvola Congress Centre in Rome in May.
