IHG to open new Hotel Indigo in Milan

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) will open a new Hotel Indigo in Milan, Italy in 2018.

Hotel Indigo Milan - Corso Monforte will feature 55 rooms, a destination restaurant, courtyard and a leisure and fitness centre.

The historic palace building will be converted as part of a franchise agreement with Amapa Group. Situated in the city centre, just ten minutes from Milan’s Duomo and La Scala, the hotel will be close to the local neighbourhood and its design will draw on inspiration from the local area, which has a long-established history in fashion, textile and design.

IHG’s associate vice president of development for southern Europe, Hylko Versteeg, said: "Boutique remains the fastest growing segment in the industry and Hotel Indigo has expanded rapidly since launching in 2004, opening its doors in 15 countries around the world. Here in Europe our strategy is focused on growing in key urban centres and established destinations, which describes Milan perfectly. Amapa Group is already a partner of ours and we’re pleased to be extending our relationship with them to bring Hotel Indigo to Milan."
