November date set for 2016 Sustainable Events Summit

The 2016 Sustainable Events Summit (SES) will take place on 21 November at 30 Euston Square in London.

Founding partners of the SES - Smyle Group, Positive Impact, Sustainable Events Ltd and Rachel Ley Consultancy – have also revealed a change to the summit’s format.

A thought-leadership research project is being undertaken by Positive Impact, the findings of which will be unveiled exclusively at the summit next month. The project will have canvassed 100 top global brands to gain a greater insight into their understanding of sustainability.

This new direction has gained the support of executive partners Banks Sadler, Showslice and Fresh Group; research partners ExCeL London, Fisher Productions, drp and Smart Group and summit sponsors the NEC, Melia Hotels International, Camm & Hooper and Crowdcomms.

Announcing the summit dates, Rick Stainton, managing director of Smyle Group said: "A key objective of this year’s SES is to find out what brands are doing from a product marketing perspective and its alignment to their sustainable approach to business.

"The key discussion is then how our industry can support them in activating this through live events to their internal and external audiences.  On the whole there is still a major difference between these two approaches, and the summit is dedicated to understanding the issues around this. We want this year’s event to help the industry offer their corporate clients real solutions that will close the knowledge gap."
