The move will take effect from October 1, with his new role spanning both the Ashfield Meetings & Events and SPARK THINKING brands. Walker, who starred in C&IT's A List in 2014, will sit within the internal engagement team that already includes creative, digital and communication specialists, reporting to Jo Brook, engagement director at Ashfield Meetings & Events.
After joining Ashfield Meetings & Events in 2008, Walker has received a series of promotions. During his time at the agency, he has worked with clients including Allergan, Amadeus, Bayer and Danone.
More recently he has been working in a business development role, focussing on developing the agency’s internal engagement services, including client content development.
Commenting on the role, manager Jo Brooke, said: "We are really excited to have Dan in his new role. He has a huge amount of live event and communications experience across a variety of sectors. His approach uses a combination of insight and understanding to challenge and define event objectives.
"He then has a natural capability to translate this into content and communications that create motivating experiences to inspire change in our client's stakeholders."
Walker added: "More and more of our business wins have seen a demand for content development which has involved the skillsets of the engagement team. From a continuity perspective, I have remained involved in these projects designing and delivering content so the move is a natural transition both for our business, our existing clients and myself. I am looking forward to growing a team of specialists in the business to support our client's content requirements."
