Home of the Olympics, Lausanne will host six medical congresses next year, including the 2017 European Meeting on Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ESC EuroGUCH). The two-day event will see 200 specialists from across Europe converge in Lausanne for its eighth scientific meeting. Meanwhile Basel has confirmed it will host the World Congress of Surgery in 2017. The five-day event will welcome 1,500 delegates.
Elsewhere, Geneva has confirmed the Congress of the World Federation for Physical Therapy (WCPT) for 5,000 delegates and Davos has signed-up the 53rd Annual Meeting & 39th Post Graduate Course of the European Society of Paediatric Radiology (ESPR) for 600 delegates.
Livio Goetz, manager UK & Ireland at SCIB, said: "We have had a strong year with a variety of events confirmed at destinations across Switzerland. It’s great to see so much interest from medical congresses in hosting their events in Switzerland. This highlights the popularity and strength of Switzerland as a destination to host events in a competitive market."
Switzerland Convention and Incentive Bureau recently launched its Swiss Formula – The Science of Great Meetings campaign which focuses on identifying the key factors that make great meetings and events by tapping into the knowledge of experienced event organisers and highlighting successful event case studies in Switzerland.
