Hamish Reid to manage Dubai Business Events

Hamish Reid has taken on the role of senior European MICE manager for Dubai Business Events at Hills Balfour, following Maris Kuklis' departure.

Kuklis worked at the agency’s specialist destination department for three and a half years, leaving last week. 

Paul Black, head of Hills Balfour MICE department, said: "We would like to sincerely thank Maris for his hard work and contribution to Hills Balfour MICE and Dubai Business Events and wish him the very best in his future career and endeavours."

Speaking about Reid’s appointment he added: "We have worked with Hamish for several years now and are delighted to appoint someone of his calibre and experience to work on behalf of Dubai Business Events to build and grow business to this region."

As part of his new role, Reid’s remit will involve driving incremental meeting, incentive and association sales from across European markets for Dubai. In addition, he will work across several high-profile marketing and industry initiatives that will be implemented throughout the year. He will be supported by Holly Marshall, who will continue in her role as account executive.

Reid  added: "I am very excited by the opportunity to work with Dubai Business Events in the Hills Balfour MICE team at a time when it is delivering on the Tourism Vision 2020 strategy to become one of the world’s most attractive destinations for meetings, conventions and exhibitions. I look forward to getting started."
