Taking place on 10 August, Connect 2016 was the second UK annual nationwide seller conference to take place and Avantgarde was selected to assist with the development of the event. The conference was designed to strengthen business relationships with sellers where 500 delegates were invited to attend. Avantgarge needed to design a platform for the brand to listen, educate and network with its sellers from across the UK.
In addition to the main speaker stage, the agency developed ‘The Marketplace’, an interactive space where 13 guests could speak directly with the individual business functions of eBay. Each speaker was allocated bespoke pod workshop environments. Supporting these interactive sessions was an audience engagement installation, which gave the sellers the platform to express their views on specific topics and gain insight into their key audience.
In total there were more than 17 hours of workshops, product demonstrations and presentations and more than 48h of one-to-one appointments. The event was managed end-to-end by Avantgarde, including the hospitality, logistics, stage show AV, merchandising, delegate management, content management and venue sourcing.
"The eBay Connect event is incredibly important for us to forge close relationships with our B2C sellers who help to make eBay the success that it is," said Simon Darby, eBay UK seller engagement manager. "The team at Avantgarde really gets the importance of this event; their support and creativity ensure it is an immensely enjoyable experience for both the Sellers and eBay team."
