EUROSOIL says postponed event will go ahead in Istanbul

The EUROSOIL 2016 event will still go ahead in Istanbul later this year, despite being postponed in July following the terrorist attack at Ataturk Airport.

The event for more than 1,000 delegates will now take place in October in the originally planned destination.

President of ECSSS, Dr Ahmet Mermut, said: ‘‘Due to the tragic terrorist attack in Istanbul, at a time very close to the date of our congress, we have decided not to give it up but to postpone the date. Terrorism, unfortunately, does not recognise borders and strikes us in almost every corner of our world.’’

With the recommendations received from the leading scientists and figures of the national and international communities, as well as strong support received from the Turkish Government, the committee has reorganised EUROSOIL 2016 between 16 - 21 October 2016.

The congress venue will be WOW Convention Center & Hotel, near Istanbul Ataturk Airport.
