The Derby-based firm has already surpassed its 2016 target of taking bookings worth at least £1 million across both UK and overseas events.

Jo Wilson, owner and managing director said clients who had started off using the agency for UK events were so pleased with the results that they were now bringing their international business. They include Nottingham-based Games Workshop, which has used ACE Bookings to find venues for conferences and meetings in locations including the Texan city of Dallas and Amsterdam in Holland.

Wilson, who worked at Zibrant for nine years before starting up on her own in August 2013, said overall bookings were up 60% on last year and that, if the growth continues, she may have to look at hiring some additional staff on a freelance basis. "It’s gone from strength to strength," she said.

"The support I’ve had from the industry, from hotels and suppliers, has just been fantastic from the start and that’s helped me get to where I am today. Fingers crossed we’ll continue to do a lot more business with them."

ACE Bookings was shortlisted in the international trade category at the Derby Telegraph Business Awards earlier this year on the back of its strong performance.
