The profit hike was on a slight dip in turnover, from £15.3m in 2014 to £15.2m this year.
Anthony Coyle-Dowling, senior director of event business development & marketing at BCD Meetings & Events, said he was delighted with this year’s results, attributing the profit growth to increased efficiency within the business.
"We’ve also had considerable growth, with new accounts and with existing accounts," he explained. "We’ve been looking at how to better drive efficiency across our European offices and that’s had a huge impact on business."
He added that new business activity, such as the recent workshops held by the agency, had also improved the agency’s profile. "We’ve seen a really positive impact through these, which has led to leads and conversions," explained Coyle-Dowling. "We’ve recruited talented people to support the business and we expect to see ambitious targets outlined for the year ahead."
The director’s report added that the slight reduction in turnover could be attributed to one of the agencies key clients consolidating its UK operations into the organisation’s European offices, seeing a transfer of revue to EMEA.
