The scheme, now in its fifth year, provides undergraduates with the opportunity to blend their educational theory with vocational insight and experiences through a year-long work placement. The scheme also allows the agency to strengthen relationships with academic institutions offering event management degrees.

Working with universities throughout the UK, the agency shortlisted candidates to attend a rigorous assessment centre in May.

The students started on Monday 4 July with a week-long induction programme at the agency’s UK headquarters. Helen Capelin, head of operational excellence, said: "We have just completed the fourth year of our placement scheme and have said goodbye, but not farewell, to our most recent set of undergraduates. The students joining us this week are incredibly enthusiastic and excited about joining our agency and industry. Following their week-long induction we will be looking to provide them with experiences and opportunities that will help demonstrate the realities of a future career in event management. This combines on-site and office-based work in addition to being enrolled in our comprehensive, award-winning in-house training programme."
