The acquisition of Business World Travel, which is based Auckland, brings the ATPI Group’s wholly owned offices to 34 in 18 countries around the world, increasing its footprint in Australasia.
Business World Travel was first established in 1992 by Grant Bevin, who will remain with the company to lead the operation in New Zealand.
Expansion in the Asia Pacific region for ATPI has recently also included the acquisition of the Australia-based Voyager in January 2014, the purchase of DTC Travel in Malaysia in October 2015 and the expansion of premises in Singapore to accommodate a growing team. Earlier this year the company launched ATPI Sports Events in Australia.
Graham Ramsey, CEO at the ATPI Group, said: "The purchase of Business World Travel is a significant milestone for our global business. As part of our growth strategy over the last two years we have focused on extensive investment and acquisitions.
"Through this most recent deal, we have a new exciting venture that reinforces the high standards of client service that are a cornerstone of our business. In turn, Business Travel World and its clients will benefit from ATPI’s bespoke technology, purchasing power, and comprehensive people development and training. We are delighted to welcome Grant and the team into the ATPI Group."
Bevin added: "Joining the ATPI Group is a fantastic opportunity for the business travel sector in the region. We have spent the past twenty-plus years building a company that puts customer service and long-term relationships at the heart of its operations. The travel management sector is fast moving and developing its technological and client service capabilities at a pace, and the ATPI Group’s expertise will empower new opportunities for us."
