A wave of major hotel brands are on their way to the Netherlands to boost the destination's already extensive C&I infrastructure.

In January, hotel behemoth Intercontinental announced it will open Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants' first property outside the US. It will be ready to launch as a 270-room luxury hotel by 2017 and will feature boldly designed boutique rooms as well as a destination bar, restaurant, gym and innovative meeting spaces.

In 2018, NH Hotel Group will open the largest hotel in Benelux with the 25-storey Nhow Amsterdam RAI. Located in the grounds of the convention centre, it will be a dramatic new addition to both the city's accommodation stock and also its skyline. Included will be a total of 650 rooms, a garden spa, bar and restaurant and even a television studio. The focus of the hotel will follow the group's flagship Madrid property, NH Collection Eurobuilding, with state-of-the-art features such as 3D Holographic Telepresence technology for virtual meetings and events.

The Mövenpick Hotel Amsterdam City Centre recently added ten extra meeting rooms adjacent to the hotel under the banner: 'Meeting Centre 2'. The spaces have been designed to provide more availability to the corporate meeting market and groups will also be able to benefit from special training packages.

Spanish hotel chain Room Mate is readying for its latest opening with the four-star, 230-room Mate Bruno in Rotterdam. The hotel will be located in the Wilhelminapier area inside a historic building that once stored the city's teabags. Meeting facilities will be available, as well as a restaurant and rooftop terrace.
