After graduating with a marketing and event management degree from Birmingham University, Genine joined Capita Travel and Events. After five years, she relocated to London and teamed up with Pure Events.

Boss says: Charlotte Wilson, managing director: "Genine is hard-working, driven, and fantastic at client relationships. She is currently running our biggest event of this year, with two other members of the team assisting as and when she needs them."

Best event I've worked on: While at Capita, we delivered a client's centenary event, which won at the C&IT Awards last year (2015). The fact that we won an award for it was amazing.

Most challenging moment: It has to be the event I'm working on now, which is taking place in Italy. It was only confirmed two-and-a-half months ago and we have four months to deliver one large event with seven mini events around it for 650 delegates.

Dream event: My love for fashion means I'd like to work on the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. It would be something very different for me, too.

Alternative career: I always wanted to be a primary school teacher.

Goals before 40: To continue to work on high-profile events and increase my expertise.
