Morrill, who in the past has worked for Gleneagles and The Caledonian Hilton Hotel, will be tasked with bringing new events to Celtic Manor’s existing conference facilities, which have recently been bolstered by the acquisition of the neighbouring Hilton Newport, now rebranded as the Coldra Court Hotel by Celtic Manor.

Morrill said: "I’m really looking forward to meeting new and existing clients of the Celtic Manor and letting them know exactly what we can do to make their next event extra special. People I talk to in the industry are already very keen to find out about the international convention centre and what it is going to bring to Celtic Manor and to Wales, so there’s some very exciting years ahead of us."

Celtic Manor has also promoted Gemma Smith to sponsorship and hospitality executive, where she will work on annual events such as Polo at the Manor, the Celebrity Cup presented by Bulmers, a Fireworks Spectacular and the month-long Christmas Kingdom.
