The new headset, a rival to the popular Oculus Rift virtual reality headset, is the result of a three-year development process and claims to be the most advanced product of its kind. It is specifically targeting the tourism and marketing sectors as well as the events industry.

The Infinitus Prime tVR has a higher resolution than other VR headsets, including Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive. It also offers a 140-degree field of view and is multi-platform, working across Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux. The device allows multiple headsets to run through one computer. Creators also claim the product is the most ‘visually striking’ headset in existence.

Creators of the device, which was launched at an event at the Bulgari Hotel in Knightsbridge on Friday (6 May), said it would work particularly well for meetings, conferences and trade shows.

Howard Thompson, CEO of Infinitus Global, said: "Infinitus Global has launched more than a VR headset, we have launched an enterprise offering which has been designed to provide our customers with industry leading return on investment, low total cost of ownership, high durability, a versatile engagement model and a deep understanding of the VR marketplace and its technical breadth."
