The space, which was last occupied by the Greater London Council in the 1980s, will undergo a multimillion-pound renovation that will see the restoration of original parquet floors and art deco windows. The venue will feature wi-fi and A/V technology throughout, while many of the rooms will offer views over the Thames to The Houses of Parliament and Big Ben.

Margaretha Welsford, director of sales for etc.venues, said: "Etc.venues County Hall is setting out to make a big bold statement to the London venue market. It’s an iconic building in an exceptional location and we believe will be a big hit with a wide range of UK and International event planners seeking a new and different London venue.

"Our clients have been urging us to open something bigger and nearer the West End and after a two-year search we’ve found the space our designers can transform into not just a top London venue, but a world-class venue."
