The agency won more than £6.2 million of new business between April 2015 and March 2016, with an 18% overall rise in turnover.
Oliver Garside, NYS Corporate managing director, said: "I established ambitious business goals for 2015/2016, which included a 9% overall growth target for NYS, with a focus on expanding the MICE side of our service offering. The reality has far exceeded all expectations, with an 18% growth in turnover and 42% increase in profitability."
In total, NYS managed 201,000 transactions last year, a 3,000 increase from 2014.
With several tender processes underway, the team at NYS are working towards the long-term goal of a £50m-plus turnover by December 2017, up from the current £41m.
To facilitate this growth, Garside is investing heavily in the business: "Some of the major investments we have made include a significant upgrade of our IT infrastructure and a major expansion of our in-house development team," he said. "This has already resulted in the launch of Sbooker – a new industry leading meetings and events booking tool – as well as a number of innovative apps and an exciting range of groundbreaking products in the pipeline.
"We have also significantly expanded our staff training budget to ensure we remain a leader in customer service, created specialist training posts and 'technology gurus' and invested in a new telephone management system. With these advancements and more in place, we are well-equipped to break records next year, too."
