Kurt Ekert replaces Douglas Anderson as CEO of CWT

Kurt Ekert is replacing Douglas Anderson as president and CEO of Carlson Wagonlit Travel, with immediate effect.

In the new role, Ekert will report directly to the CWT board of directors.

As the former vice president & chief commercial officer of Travelport, he brings a wealth of experience with him to CWT. During the five plus years in his previous role, the business transformed its product offerings and value propositions in all key channels and delivered consistent growth, highlighted by a successful IPO.

Ekert spent nine years in a number of other executive roles at Travelport, including chief operating officer of European-based GTA. His experience prior to that includes six years at Continental Airlines.

Under Anderson’s leadership, CWT developed as a business travel specialist and made advancements in technology, including the acquisition of WorldMate. Anderson is leaving to pursue other opportunities.
