C&IT A List: One year on - drp's Ryan Curtis-Johnson

Looking back over the last year, things have changed quite a bit. I’ve been promoted to head of PR & marketing at drp, which has seen me pull together not only the PR strategy but also the marketing strategy for the business.

Now managing a team of two, the new position will see me working more strategically, building on drp’s representation in the industry, looking for new marketing opportunities and managing the marketing budget.

It was great to be recognised in the C&IT A list 2015, and it definitely helped me to form further relationships with other A Listers and promote myself within the industry. It has afforded me a range of opportunities, from being on panel discussions for Event Huddle, to helping with associations like ISES.

Towards the end of 2015 I was approached by the PRCA to become an assessor for their apprenticeship scheme, which I have successfully been doing since October - a great chance for me to be able to help new talent coming into the PR industry, but also the industry as a whole.

It’s an exciting time for me with my new role and I look forward to building my team and supporting them to achieve our objectives, not only as a business but individually too.

I would definitely say that being named in the C&IT A list has helped me to be recognised more within the industry and presented me with some great opportunities not only personally, but for drp as well.

Good luck to the next round of A Listers in 2016!

The C&IT A List 2016, celebrating 35 of the top agency talent aged 35 or under, will be unveiled on 25 April at Leadenhall Building's Landing Forty Two.
