C&IT partnered with Rocco Forte Hotels and Brown's Hotel to film our first events industry cook off, featuring Michelle Mainwaring, marketing and PR manager at Vivid Event Group; Nichola Pergande, events director at Church Street Events; Louise Gruchy, director of operations at Bluehat Group; and Andrew Gilkerson, client and procurement director at WRG.
The four contestants - who won their place in the Cook Off through an earlier competition - were invited to put their skills to the test in a professional kitchen last month (March).
After a demonstration from the expert, Brown's Hotel head chef Riad Ziadi, they were tasked with creating their own version of popular Brown's dish, Roast Newlyn Monkfish on the Bone with Hannan's Guanciale.
Ziadi tasted and gave his views on each of the four creations in the film, but the winner will be picked by C&IT readers. One of our four contestants will be crowned as the event industry's chef extraordinaire and get to enjoy dinner for two and a stay at Brown's Hotel.
