In South Wales, Hensol Castle at the Vale Resort reopened in April 2015, having undergone a £10m revamp to transform it into a conference venue complete with guest rooms and a restaurant.
The 17th-century venue's largest room, the Castle Suite, is able to host 700 delegates theatre-style and 420 for a banquet. Last year also saw the 900-year old, Grade I-listed Cardigan Castle reopen after a £12m restoration. The fortress boasts a marquee for up to 200 delegates, while smaller rooms inside can seat 20 to 60 guests.
The Lake Country House Hotel in Powys, mid-Wales can be hired exclusively for corporate use. The picturesque house offers spa facilities and a boardroom for up to 35 delegates, and a range of outdoor pursuits can be organised if requested.
Medieval National Trust property Powis Castle can hold conferences for up to 100 delegates in its Ballroom, while the Housekeeper's Parlour can accommodate smaller meetings of up to 12.
The castle can host drink and canape receptions in its Orangery or Aviary Terraces, offering stunning views of its gardens, complete with a deer park.
In September 2015, Swansea University unveiled more than 20 new event spaces with the opening of its £450m Bay Campus. Its full conference and event facilities won't be available until summer 2016, but certain packages are available now. The campus facilities are centred around the multi-purpose Great Hall complex, which features a 700-seat auditorium, three lecture theatres and several breakout rooms.
Set beneath Snowdonia, Llandudno's Venue Cymru is a blank-canvas space with a range of meeting rooms that can accommodate from eight to 5,000 delegates. The highly versatile venue has full A/V equipment and a choice of catering solutions.
Swansea's Liberty Stadium, home to Swansea City AFC and Ospreys Rugby, boasts 40 function suites that can hold from ten to 660 delegates for a range of events. The stadium also offers tours for groups.
In the autumn of 2016, celebrity chef Marco Pierre White will open a rooftop restaurant at a new four-star boutique hotel in Cardiff. The property will be located at Dominions House on Queen Street and will operate under the Hotel Indigo brand.
In summer 2015, luxury boutique property Twr y Felin Hotel opened in the UK's smallest city, St David's in Pembrokeshire. The former windmill underwent a complete refurbishment and extension and now boasts 20 en-suite bedrooms, a restaurant and bar. It is available for exclusive hire for incentive breaks and teambuilding activities in the surrounding Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.
For a more active event, Treetop Adventure Golf, Wales' only indoor mini-golf attraction, has launched a new corporate package to celebrate its first birthday this year. It is located in Cardiff's St David's shopping centre. Groups of 40 and above can try out two rainforest-themed, 18-hole courses that feature indoor thunderstorms, a river, seven-metre trees and hidden interactive drop holes.
For a back-to-nature venue, Fforest in Cardigan, on the west coast, can host conferences in its giant tepee, lodge, or barn area for up to 120 delegates and offers a relaxed feel with views of the surrounding countryside.
Staying with the nature theme, the Bluestone National Park Resort in Pembrokeshire is available for exclusive use. Set in 500 acres of countryside, it can accommodate more than 1,000 delegates and offers flexible meeting spaces, spa facilities and activities such as zip wires and a high ropes course.
