Ambrosiou will be responsible for the management of commercial events, client relationships and liaising with the various departments across Barbican Centre. She has a range of experience across both hospitality and previously worked as a festival and events co-ordinator with Waterstones for more than ten years.

This appointment comes after recent growth for the Barbican, which saw it expand its team with a new event executive and close £1m worth of events contracts in a single week.

Lee Dobson, head of event management at the Barbican, said: "Silvana has settled into her role well and she has brought a real energy to the team as we look to make 2016 another year to remember."
