After working at the tourist board for six years, González Jonguitud has extensive experience in both conferences and exhibitions. Based in the Mexican city of Cancun, she will be working with partners and around the globe to promote the region’s MICE offering.

The news follows the announcement that the multimillion pound renovation of the city’s biggest convention venue, the Cancun Center is almost complete. Located in the heart of Cancun’s Hotel Zone, the centre began its operations in 2004 and currently hosts more than 500 events each year.

As part of her new role, González Jonguitud will be promoting the centre’s new art facilities.
