Gran Meliá to open first hotel in Iran

Meliá Hotels International is to open its first five-star hotel in Iran, the Gran Meliá Ghoo Hotel, in 2017.

The Gran Meliá Ghoo Hotel will be part of the ‘Ghoo, Middle East Diamond’ development, the largest mixed residential, commercial and hotel complex currently in development in Iran, located in Salman Shahr on the Caspian Sea.

The hotel, which is due to open in 2017, will occupy a 130m high tower and will boast 319 deluxe rooms of different types, including the Presidential Suite which will measure more than 500sqm.

The hotel’s facilities will include more than 1,300sqm of meeting and banquet facilities, two swimming pools, a spa, seven restaurants and bars and a range of leisure and shopping facilities.

In addition to the hotel, the Ghoo, Middle East Diamond resort will also feature two residential towers, a sports centre, parking and a retail mall.
