In his new role, Chan will be responsible for the full operational setup of the office to ensure each division is operating for the agency’s client base. He will also aim to enlarge TAG’s footprint in the region and establish its brand presence.
Chan brings with him a deal of experience in travel and events industry, having formerly worked as director of sales and marketing at Design Hotels for the Asia Pacific region. He also worked at privately owned independent travel company Rosenbluth International.
In his new role, Chan will be supported by Jodie Hobday, who has joined the TAG Singapore office as operations manager. She has relocated from TAG’s Sydney operation where she held the same position.
TAG’s Singapore office, which opened last September, has allowed the company to build on its existing momentum in the region.
Shane Barr, managing director of TAG Asia-Pacific, said: "As our presence in this region continues to significantly grow, the expansion of our Singapore office is a calculated decision for TAG to solidify its position in the growing Asian business travel and event community.
"The general manager position was no easy task to fill. Brandon was selected as he provides an eclectic mix of local cultural knowledge, wide industry connections and a stellar reputation in the hospitality, events and travel industry in the Asia-Pacific marketplace. Brandon’s strategic vision and in-depth knowledge of this marketplace will certainly enable us to become an integral part of the Asian travel and events industry for a long time to come."
