MCI USA has been created out of MCI’s merger with US-based Coulter Companies, which took place early last year. Coulter Companies, together with the other existing and new US operations, has been consolidated under the MCI USA brand.
MCI USA will include the company’s new Strategic Event Management unit. The unit will bring MCI’s expertise in event strategy, sourcing and operations to the US market.
MCI USA’s facilities include its headquarters in suburban Washington DC, its experiential marketing and events division in New York, and further presence in five additional states. Founder of Coulter Companies, Thomas Coulter Gibson, has been appointed chief executive officer of MCI USA, while Shawn Pierce will be president of the Strategic Event Management unit.
"As association and corporate meetings portfolios are increasingly disrupted by competitive pressures, as well as changes in both technology and employee turnover, MCI USA’s Strategic Event Management business will harness the company’s global reach and scale in delivering capabilities that can not just manage risk, but drive bottom-line results," said Pierce.
The addition of the US chapter brings the MCI team to nearly 2,000 professionals operating in 60 cities and 31 countries.
