Last Friday evening (5 February), London Union welcomed more than 25 agencies to its winter showcase, which gave attendees a preview of the event spaces available to hire at Dinerama in Shoreditch and Hawker House at Canada Water. Agencies including AOK Events and Story Events arrived at Dinerama were greeted with hot cider, mulled wine and Prosecco cocktails.

A selection of street food was on offer, including pork and tofu filled steamed rolls from Yum Buns, mushroom and fish-filled tacos from Breddos Tacos and salted caramel and chocolate custard doughnuts from You Doughnut. Attendees were then transported to Hawker House to explore the space and enjoy food from traders including Rola Wala, Smokestak, Meat Hook and Milk & Honey Mercury lounge.

On Sunday (7 February), The MPI European Meetings & Events Conference (EMEC) 2016 kicked off in Copenhagen, Denmark, with event professionals from the UK, North America and Europe attending. Held at the Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel over three days, the event included educational sessions on a wide range of topics - from women’s empowerment in the industry to safety and security. On the Sunday evening, guests were invited to a dinner and networking session at Copenhagen Street Food, a unique warehouse-based events venue.

On Tuesday (9 February), the 15 mentees from last year’s Fast Forward 15 programme hosted A Night of Sparkle in Basement at The London EDITION. The charity reception saw an informal evening of networking and entertainment, with all proceeds going to Newlife Foundation, The Prince’s Trust and The Clink. The evening was developed by the participants of the inaugural Fast Forward 15 in response to a challenge set down by scheme founder Fay Sharpe, to test their event organising skills.
