In the closing session at MPI EMEC 2016 in Copenhagen, Denmark, Pierre Fernandez, senior director of European Operations for MPI, announced that Granada will be the host city for next year's conference, with the event being held at the Granada Congress & Exhibition Centre.

The conference, which will focus on ‘everything Spanish’, is due to take place from 5-7 March 2017.

Fiona Pelham, international chair for MPI, said that the destination had been chosen for its history, culture and accessibility. "This year has been different to anything we’ve experienced before so we need to try and top that next year. We’ve seen tremendous passion from the Spanish chapter and the event is set to be another great success. The destination is beautiful and there will be a focus on the local culture, with the food and entertainment centred around the country."
