BMI to launch twice-daily Southampton to Munich flights

BMI Regional has announced plans to launch two flights a day from Southampton to Munich from April this year.

From 15 April the airline will operate a 12-times weekly service from Southampton to Munich. The flights will depart twice a day from Monday to Friday, and daily on Saturdays and Sundays. 

From Monday to Friday the flights will depart Southamption at 8am and 4:30pm, arriving into Munich at 10:45am and 7:15pm respectively. At the weekend the flights will leave Southampton at 9:10am, arriving into Munich at 11:55am.

BMI predicts the new route to be popular with business travellers, with Munich being one of Germany’s main financial centres and the global headquarters of a number of brands.

Dave Lees, Southampton Airport’s managing director, said: "Scheduled air services to Munich have been requested by many businesses, so this is great news. Key industries that have links in our two regions include aerospace, advanced engineering and IT."
