Following a successful 2015, Manchester-based agency Journey9 has bolstered its executive team with another senior hire as well as a board appointment, as part of its ambitious strategic plan to grow the business fivefold over the next four years.

Nigel Bennett has been appointed as creative director, while former managing director of Grass Roots Live Charles Moyle has come on board as non-executive director.

As a member of Journey9’s senior management team, Bennett will head up the agency’s entire operational and creative function, managing a team delivering internal communications, product launches, experiential and exposure marketing, as well as the agency’s new sports’ division. His first project will be a full rebrand of Journey9 with a new website and new logo, which the team hopes will be a catalyst for growth.

Bennett has spent the last two years working with some of the region’s biggest experiential and event agencies, having relocated from London where he spent 25 years at creative director as Twentyfirst, which he helped found. In the past he has worked for brands including The Walt Disney Company, Vodafone, Microsoft, Paramount, Sainsbury’s and Shell.

Laura Wolfe, managing director of Journey9, said: "Nigel and Charles bring a wealth of industry experience to the agency. They are the next major hires as part of our growth plan and they join us at a really important time. We’ve had an interesting journey over the past six years and our plans now are to focus on our core specialisms and deliver creative and impactful work that delights our clients and helps us maintain our positioning as the best live brand experience agency in the North of England."
