On Tuesday (24 November) Bluehat introduced its new showcase space, which will give event professionals the chance to experience event options before they choose what’s right for them. As part of the kick-off night, more than 30 industry professionals attempted up to four GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS challenges. One of the teams successfully completed the rope challenge in a new record time of nine seconds.

On Sunday (22 November), Wella Professionals' TrendVision 2015 event to showcase key hair trends for 2016 took place in Berlin. It was delivered by events agency Jack Morton Worldwide. The event, which took place at The Station in Berlin, was designed to continually transform around the audience, with the catwalk evolving for every show. Elements of the live experience at Wella TrendVision included a Sebastian Professional catwalk show featuring an architectural light installation; a 100m ‘Model Gallery’, giving close-up access to the final ITVA looks; live hair workshops with leading stylists; interactive installations that unpacked the trend stories; and an immersive red-carpet experience.

Also on Tuesday, luxury cruise line Silversea Expeditions, in conjunction with the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG), celebrated the opening of the Enduring Eye: The Antarctic Legacy of Sir Ernest Shackleton and Frank Hurley exhibition at the RGS headquarters in London on the evening of 24 November. The event played host to a number of travel professionals, alongside renowned travel writer, broadcaster and actor Michael Palin CBE as guest of honour and speaker.

Last night (26 November), The International Wine and Spirit Competition (IWSC) invited the drinks industry to Guildhall in the City of London to celebrate the close of its 46th year with the Annual Awards Banquet, which saw more than 80 trophies awarded to winners from all over the world. The event began with a tasting in the crypt, followed by a five-course meal and awards presentation in the main hall.

Also this week, Cancer Research UK recognised Worldspan staff for their commitment in raising over £11,000 for the charity. The agency raised funds by undertaking a sponsored group triathlon last month.
