MCI launches new safety app for delegates

Agency MCI Global has launched a new travel safety app for delegates, in response to the worldwide security threats facing travellers.

The agency will provide its 350,000 annual congress delegates with access to the Safeture App, which has been developed through a collaboration with Global Warning System (GWS), a travel app provider. The app will alert delegates to any travel disruption and risk alerts through monitoring, data-mining and positioning technology.

"With our partner GWS, we are proud to offer clients the world’s most modern personal security technology," said Richard Torriani, MCI Group vice president of congress management. "We organise more than 400 international congresses a year in over 60 countries, so this new app is of great value to MCI and our clients. By making sure that they stay up to date, and stay safe, the GWS service will bring peace of mind to delegates, wherever in the world their congress is taking place."
