Scotland on Tour targets event planners in the Midlands

A number of top Scottish venues have climbed on board for this year's 'Scotland on Tour' event, which took place earlier this week.

Organised by the Business Events team at VisitScotland, Scotland on Tour saw seven Scottish partners meeting with event organisers throughout the Midlands, including stops in Birmingham, Worcester, Leicestershire, Staffordshire and Lincolnshire.

VisitScotland’s novel approach to networking provides Scottish businesses with invaluable face-to-face meetings with top event organisers.

Taking place from 10-11 November, Scotland on Tour featured the following Scottish businesses: Macdonald Hotels & Resorts; Crerar Hotel Group; Susan Reid Collection; Dundas Castle; Trump Turnberry; Floors Castle and Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh – The Caledonian.

Theresa Ring, north England market manager in VisitScotland’s business events team, said: "While a familiarisation trip sees businesses coming to Scotland, this is the next best thing – we take Scotland to them. Scotland on Tour provides Scottish businesses with invaluable face-to-face meetings with top event organisers across the Midlands, a hugely important market for our business events industry. This year’s event was another big success, with our partners giving event organisers expert insight into some of Scotland’s top venues."

Among the agencies taking part in Scotland on Tour were: Top Banana, DRP Group, Arrange My Group, Ashfield Meetings & Events, Access Bookings, Trinity Event Solutions, Jigsaw Conferences and Conference Solutions.
